RUSTY MALINOSKIS PAN AM GOLD – With a score of 89.11, Canada’s Rusty Malinoski won a gold medal in wakeboarding at the 2015 Pan American Games, hosted in Toronto, Canada on July 23.

Held every four years, The Pan Am Games consist of nearly 50 sports and take place a year before the Olympic Summer Games. “A lot of people don’t realize how big the Pan Am Games are,” Rusty said. “The event was a great experience for me to share with my family and I was happy to represent Canada and my hometown of Humbolt, Saskatchewan.”

Rusty was the clear favorite coming off the dock, hyping the crowd up as he hit the water. “I didn’t want to let anyone down,” Rusty said. “I acted like I had it in the bag, but I was definitely nervous and I didn’t want to screw up.” Rusty adds this gold medal to the 2008 and 2013 versions he also has at home in the trophy cabinet.
