We recently sat down with the California native to catch up and have her share some good advice for all you girls and guys in the cyber-sphere.
How would you describe the last month of your life?
Awesome! We’ve had some snowstorms, so I’ve been snowboarding quite a bit, and then we’ve had really warm weather in between, so we’ve been able to wakeboard. The beach has also been really nice, so I’ve been diving and surfing a lot.
What was your best day snowboarding so far this year?
There have been a few powder days that are super fun, but I love the park at Big Bear. Nothing beats a warm day shredding that park.
Is Cliff a dog with a human brain? He’s becoming quite the Internet sensation these days.
Haha. Yeah he is basically Teddy Ruxpin, but alive. He loves to eat fancy food so I have been putting him to work to pay off his debt. He is an ambassador for Body Glove Pet, Plato Organic pet treats and his vet, Liquid Therapy.
Things seem to be going well with GoPro. What is your role and what are some recent highlights?
GoPro is such an awesome company to work for. As a team rider, our job is to be as creative as possible with new angles, showing people the possibilities. We make edits, take great photos and provide feedback. Last year, all the GoPro athletes went to Hawaii for the Athlete Summit and we got to hang out together. They set up fun activities everyday, and we went to GoPro school in the mornings. They have such a rad team and everyone is so down to earth and unique in their sport.
Lots of girls are asking about your fitness routine. What do you do and what advice would you have for them?
Yoga and mountain biking help me stay in shape the most and keep me balanced and flexible for wakeboarding. Then, I go to the gym to strengthen weaknesses and to build muscle to support my joints. Good advice would be to do multiple activities and always change up the routine to keep your body strong in all areas. It’s important to feel good too, and I always do while wearing anything from the new Breathe lineup.
Do you have a certain type of guy that you like?
They have to snowboard, love the ocean, be down to earth, be a gentleman, and love travel and adventures.
A guy that knows what he wants, is caring and very respectful towards girls, takes initiative, and is always honest.
Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions?
I try to make resolutions everyday when I wake up. My resolution is usually something that involves doing my best to allow God to guide me in a direction to be a better person. Also to have the strength to help others in whatever way it may be.
What are your goals for 2015?
Wakeboard as much as possible and learn the technical tricks I have always had trouble with. Be more involved in organizations to help people in need. Also, do as much as I can to grow the sport, work on a video part with all new tricks and lots of winching, and be the best ambassador I can be for the sport and my sponsors.
